How does VANIQA
work?
|
VANIQA interferes with an enzyme found in the hair
follicle of the skin needed for hair growth. This in turn results in
slower hair growth and improved appearance where VANIQA is applied.
Application of VANIQA does not permanently remove hair
or "cure" unwanted facial hair. It is not a depilatory. Women
wishing to use VANIQA should initially continue to use their current hair
removal technique(s). Proper usage of VANIQA will help patients manage
their condition and improve their appearance.
With the aid of VANIQA Improvement in the condition of
unwanted facial hair growth will occur gradually. Women using VANIQA
should not be discouraged if they see no immediate improvement. Changes to
facial hair may be seen as early as 4 to 8 weeks. It should be noted that
improvement may take longer in some individuals. If no improvement is seen
after 6 months of use, discontinue use.

|

Vaniqa
|
Other methods of removing excess facial hair have proven
to be costly, painful treatments. Clinical studies show that these
treatments are ineffective; and often result in skin discoloration and
ingrown hair (folliculitis).
It is estimated that over 41 million women take measures
to remove unwanted facial hair at some point during a 6-month period.

|
|
|
Discontinued Use
Of VANIQA
|
Clinical studies show that in about 8 weeks after

as before beginning treatment. Therefore proper maintenance should be part

Is VANIQA
Better Than The Alternatives?
|
A)Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is not a permanent fix to unwanted hair growth, rather
it helps cuts down on some hair growth for individuals that have light
skin complexions and dark hair. Laser Hair remaoval is often considered to
be a les desireable therapy because of its cost, continued maintenance and
potential side effects.
B)Electrolysis
Electrolysis is painful and has proven to be difficult to treat widespread
areas at one time. Significant scar formation can occur in some
electrolysis patients as well as skin discoloration, especially in African
American, and Asian women. If you are planning on using VANIQA while
having laser hair removal or electrolysis, make sure to consult with your
physician before doing so.
