VANIQA also contains ceteareth-20, cetearyl alcohol, dimethicone, glyceryl stearate, methylparaben, mineral oil, PEG-100 stearate, phe-noxyethanol, propylparaben, stearyl alcohol and water.

What VANIQA Patients Should Be Aware Of

VANIQA is a prescription medication, therefore, if you are taking any other prescription medicine(s), non-prescription medicine(s) or using any facial or skin cream(s), check with your physician before use of VANIQA. How Should I Use VANIQA?

VANIQA is to be used twice daily, at least eight hours apart, or as directed by your doctor. VANIQA is for external use only. Follow the instructions for application of VANIQA carefully. Initially patients wishing to use VANIQA will need to continue thier normal procedures for hair removal until desired results have been achieved.

Application and Directions for Use

Apply a thin layer of VANIQA to the affected areas of the face and adjacent involved areas under the chin and rub in thoroughly. You should not wash the treatment areas for at least 4 hours after application of VANIQA. Avoid getting the medication in your eyes or inside your nose or mouth. If the product gets in your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water and contact your doctor

Possible Side Effects

VANIQA may cause temporary redness, rash, burning, stinging or tingling, especially when applied to the areas where the skin may be broken. If irritation continues, stop use of VANIQA and contact your doctor

Folliculitis (hairbumps) may also occur. If this condition persists, consult your doctor.

Maintenance Of VANIQA

If you forget or miss a dose of VANIQA do not try to "make it up". Return to your normal application schedule as soon as you can.

Usage Of Other Skin Care Products

VANIQA does not interfere with the use of normal cosmetic products or sunscreen. Patients wishing to use these products should only do so after applying VANIQA. You should wait a few minutes to allow the skin to absorb VANIQA before applying them. If your condition gets worse with treatment, stop use of VANIQA and contact your doctor. Patients using VANIQA should not incur Increased sensitivity to the sun, contact dermatitis or skin sensitization.

Is VANIQA Better Than The Alternatives?

A)Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is not a permanent fix to unwanted hair growth, rather it helps cuts down on some hair growth for individuals that have light skin complexions and dark hair. Laser Hair remaoval is often considered to be a les desireable therapy because of its cost, continued maintenance and potential side effects.

B)Electrolysis
Electrolysis is painful and has proven to be difficult to treat widespread areas at one time. Significant scar formation can occur in some electrolysis patients as well as skin discoloration, especially in African American, and Asian women.
